The Veil Is Off

The veil has been ripped off and what we’re witnessing is not just a scandal, it’s soul shaking. Are we truly grasping the magnitude of the trauma in watching men, cloaked in the language of “brotherly LOVE”, Black excellence, and cultural pride, turn out to be the very embodiment of corruption and abuse?

This is reality in HD.

Men we grew to admire, considered pillars of communities, names etched onto buildings, praised as visionaries and moguls —are being revealed as predators. Not flawed, but foul. Not misguided, but manipulative. They use wealth, status, and influence as weapons, exploiting vulnerability, masking intention, performing humanity while practicing destruction.

And while these stories unfold on the global stage, the truth hits closer to home. Because we’ve seen it too—maybe not with fame and fortune, but in our own lives. In the ones who pretended to love us. In the fathers who failed us. In the men who wore masks of goodness just long enough to get what they wanted. It’s not new. It’s just louder now.

This is patriarchy at its most vile. Systemic, normalized, protected. And I’m exhausted.

From the sorry-ass baby daddy with nothing to give but pain, to the toxic ex husbands who claim to be victims of EVERYTHING but their own poor decisions, and down to the CEO with everything but a soul—the sickness is the same.

Far too many men are unwell.

And even more are dangerous in their unhealed, unchecked state.

This isn’t just a reckoning. It’s a mirror. And I, for one, am tired of pretending not to see what’s been here all along. – Sincerely Som
